Revisiting some faves.

I got a coconut lemon cupcake from Susies. OMFG. that is all.
Vegetarian Dragon Roll from Sushi Nami.

okay, so I get rosemary pullaparts from Pete's (code 2121 - yes, memorized) and then I  cut slits in it and put cheese in the slits and then put it in the oven and eat it with pasta or pasta sauce.
okay, this is a pineapple popsicle from  the tropical  collection from  scotsburn.  Dudes,  this popsicle collection is this shit, but a box of 12 is $5.99 which is ridic. but they were on sale for $2.99 so I indulge.

for $8.99 you get this from Jeans. Enough  said.

Stayner's Warf

We went to Stayner's for our staff Christmas Dinner. I am a little drunk so I will keep this brief:

jazztini

portobello mushroom appetizer

granny smith caesar salad
and we split the brownie dessert

The service was great and the food was alright - I mean, there were zero vegetarian options for meals, just a few apps, but it was a nice saturday night.

I was strangely drawn to this hat.

L.K. Yarns

I am taking a knitting class, more on that later, and at the first class all anyone could talk about was L.K. Yarns. L.K. Yarns is located in the Hydrostone Market which I have been meaning to check out for months. Today I bussed it (on the #7) and had a wander. The Hydrostone is a lovely little affluent area. I wanted to do lunch there, but yikes, pricey. L.K was not exactly economical either. Beautiful, beautiful yarns and supplies, but not for the gal on a budget.

Citadel Hill Downpour

Remember a few weeks ago when it rained for like three days? I am talking POURING down rain? Ya? Okay, well I had a friend visiting and after two days of sitting inside being sick and watching netflix, we adventured out in the downpour. I can't even talk about how wet we got. We went to Citadel Hill and did the whole tourist thing. Besides the rain it was a cool time. Lots of stuff to look at and we were there around noon so they set off a cannon (though we are still trying to figure out where the ball thing went) and I want to go back next summer and do a complete wander along the top.

Dress Me

So I am on the hunt for a green dress for my halloween costume. I have only one day off (and by off I mean I don`t have to work until 4pm) between now and then to find it and I am having no luck! But in my travels I have found some cool things:

Sometimes A Girl Just Needs A Cupcake

Hey, I needed a cupcake. So I went to Susie`s Shortbreads and picked one up.
Besides being the cutest store, they make delicious cupcakes.

Cupcakes are a bit ridiculous when you realize you are spending $3 on one. But sometimes you just NEED some cake and you don`t exactly want to buy an entire cake, because then you will eat an entire cake and have a huge ass, so you spend $3 on one little cake.

I suggest Susie`s. Sweet Janes also has cupcakes, but be damned if I could find a price in store so eff that.
Check out their Twitter for updates on the cupcake mobile

Nocturne at night

I clearly meant to make a post about this ahead of time so you could like, actually remember to go to it, but I almost forgot about it myself. Luckily I live on a happenin' street and the noise drew me out of my bunker. So, Nocturne at Night was brilliant. I didn't get to see everything I wanted too, but what I did see was fantastic and made me really happy to live in this city.

What is Nocturne at Night? Here: Nocturne: Art at Night is a fall festival that brings art and energy to the streets of Halifax between 6 p.m.-midnight. This year’s event will take place on October 15. The completely free, fourth annual event showcases and celebrates the visual arts scene in Halifax. Nocturne, designed and planned by volunteers, is an opportunity for everyone to experience the art of Halifax in a whole new light. The Nocturne Program Guide provides details about exhibitions in galleries and public spaces throughout the city.

This was in the church down the block from me. The theme this year was something to do with senses (my issue was the lack of social media that could have been optimized for this event - I wanted a better twitter handle and a presence on four square so I knew where I was and where I was close too and what the wait time was etc. etc.) Anyways, in this church there was a guitar suspended from the ceiling and it made different sounds depending on the height it was suspended at. Creepy and great.

A massive light bright was the main attraction at the Argyle Gallery.

So I may be in love with glass blowers. Love.

These were awesome.
