Pete's Frootique

Pete's Frootique is located on Dresden Row off of Spring Garden. Dresden Row just happens to be the best name of a street ever. Pete's also happens to be da bomb. The Bakery! The Cheese! THE IMPORTED CANDY! I can't take it. It is all just too awesome. Of course, this comes with a price, and things are pricey. 

There is also a cafeteria style restaurant in the front with a menagerie of soups, salads and sandwiches and of course, a juice bar. Pete's is delicious magic.

Your Father's Mustache

Sunday was a very busy day for me. A friend who I had not seen in three (!) years was in town and we had quite the day. The day began with a stop at Your Father's Mustache for brunch. It was 2pm. Whoops. Luckily they serve brunch until 3pm on weekends.

The place was hopping! It was the first nice day in a loooooong time and everyone was taking advantage of the rooftop patio. It was lovely. YFM is on Spring Garden (5686 to be exact) and the patio has great views of the Public Gardens and the rest of downtown. 

YFM also has more than one veggie option on the menu which was appreciated was we are both vegetarians. After much debate between a veggie burger or crepes, I went with the mixed berry crepes. I would give them a 3/5. They were okay. Not bad by any means, but not really great either. My cohort went with a traditional breakfast of scrambled  eggs and toast minus the meat and add extra fruit. 

All in all Your Father's Mustache is a place I will definitely be going again. 

The patio is fantastic and the food is promising. 

Freak Lunchbox

First off, I cannot believe it is only Monday. I had a crazy day yesterday and am 

 totally beat. The best day! Now I am looking outside and it is raining and I have
 a job to apply for about 6 blocks away. Balls. 

BUT here is a review of a place bound to cheer you up!

Freak Lunchbox

I went to Freak on that foggy night to get some snacks for my wander.

my haul: candy, a glorified butterfinger and taffy = $7

inside my bag were cherry twists, swedish fish and salt water taffy. 

Freak Lunchbox is amazing! The staff were very friendly and we chatted about blogging (yes, I am trying to make this happen). There is a large selection of candy in bins that you get charged $1.65/100grams (I think, I am a tad foggy). There is a healthy selection of obscure chocolate bars with a large choice of Wonka chocolate and candy. There are also a variety of gag/fun gifts i.e. fake vomit. It is a definite MUST if you are in downtown Halifax. 

A Wander - Foggy Nights

It was the most beautiful evening the other day. There was no wind, a lovely temperature and the fog was beautiful. A perfect night for a waterfront wander.

I ended up chilling at the dock where the last photo was taken until it cooled down too much and I had to head home.
